Latte Girl and the Shoe Mystery

Latte Girl, recently back from a sabbatical to the wilds of Colombia, was taking a much-needed respite in sunny San Diego. She was resting with her pup, Hot Choco Dog, at a nice little coffee hut by the bay when, lo-and-behold, she spied a single stiletto bobbing in the waves. “Holy-Holstein, Hot Choco Dog,” she cried. “There is a single stiletto silently sloshing in the sea! You know what this means? It means that SOMEONE LOST THEIR SHOE. It is our duty to retrieve the shoe and return it to the rightful owner, Choco!” “Ruff,” Choco replied. Carefully setting her newly-trendy maté latte on the table, Latte Girl grabbed her coffee cuff. With her tall latte powers, she stretched to snatch the soon-to-be-sinking stiletto from the salty swell. “Ruff, ruff” barked Choco happily. Luckily, the owner had written her name and cell phone number on the inside of her shoe, just in case something like this ever happened. “Thanks, Latte Girl,” I’ve been searching for this shoe for some time.” “How did it end up in the drink, stiletto-lady?” “Well, that IS and interesting story. It all happened when….” (To be continued).

Latte Girl Saves the Computers

After rescuing the (Earl) Grey whale, Latte Girl began pining for her old stomping grounds, the center of the coffee universe, the Pacific Northwest. So, Latte Girl hopped on the nearest steam train and headed for Seattle. And none too soon it steams, or seems.

A coffee crisis was a brewin'.

"Latte girl, we're having so many earthquakes that we can't drink our coffee. It just spills everywhere and shorts out our hard drives," cried the high-tech computer programmers.

"I don't think the problem is with the Juan de Fuca Plate. Here, try a little decaf," she replied as she passed around steaming beverages in reusable, non-spill mugs made from post-consumer recycled content.

Two Hours Latte:

"Thanks, Latte Girl! You saved our hard drives!"

"No problem. See you Latte!"

Latte Girl Saves the Whale(s) Part 2

I arrived at the Bay with an assortment of refreshing beverages for the Marine Biologists and Coast Guard officials. “Thanks, Latte Girl.”
“Let’s take a moment to sip and ponder the situation,” I suggested. (Reader – this may be a good time to enjoy your own beverage).
I asked a Marine Biologist, “Why is the Grey Whale here?” And because this is not a highly scientific paper, I will summarize. “He was traveling to Alaska and took a wrong turn.”
“Hmm.” I pondered some more as I sipped my tea (yes, Latte Girl drinks all sorts of beverages). That was it! (Do you see where I’m going here?) Brilliant! Then, with fantastic multi-agency (Marine Biologists, Coast Guard and the nearest beverage retailer) coordination, we fashioned an enormous tea bag to the back of a Coast Guard Cutter and lured the Grey whale out of the bay to continue on its Northward Journey. Tea. Earl Grey. Of course.
See you Latte!

Latte Girl Saves the Whales

I wasn't expecting much adventure today following my harrowing day yesterday, but when I heard that there was a grey whale lingering in San Diego Bay, I knew it was time to strap on my latte cuffs and see what I could do.
